This is just the study of a big toe. It starts at the top but doesn’t end at the bottom. If you can place the television at such a distance that you can turn it on with your big toe, do so. Today, a student stopped. He offered to show you his scars. He gestured at them with the bags in both of his hands. Ignore him. He will turn to the tank and offer to show him his scars. All of his clothes are cleanly pressed today. “I got this scar from the RV Trip. We closed one of the side compartments, and I was standing too close.” The tank will stop. Visualize the tank stopping, see things slowing and stopping. See yourself stopping. “I was bitten as a baby,” the tank will say. “The sore burst and ran down my leg. I had a rough white line down my leg for years and years.” Quickly, do not care whether or not the tank will hit you. I was told there was someone in the road. I thought, impossible. Visualize yourself stopping the tank. It would be better if they ran me over. People will know what monsters they are. I was cutting an apple while it was in my hand. I could see the layer of fat under my skin. I had cut all the way through my skin. Remain quiet. Gesture. When you are sure they have stopped, investigate even if you are yelled at. He climbed onto the tank and tried to find the people inside, just like all the other days. He was ready. The streets were empty. If he tries to show you his scars, try to make a sharp right. Make sure he jumps in front of you. I thought: he’s suicidal, and crazy. I was told to make a sharp right, I did, and then I was told to stop. The tank went on to kill people. Time to wait until they need me. They say he gestured for us to go around, or to run him over. All of the tanks stopped. I feel warm and then cold, over and over again. My ankle moves back and forth. The streets are empty. I am alone unless there are people in the tank. Step 1: there must be people in the tank. Look down at your feet. Study your big toe, and place it close to the television screen. Step 2: feel the sound of someone telling you there is someone outside in front of you, visualize stopping and then stop. Focus on your big toe and how close it is. Say, “I had a friend who was elbowed in the face.” Walk into the street and make conversation with the tank. “Uh…like…how are you?” Step 3: act coy. “Ya know.” Show him your toy collection to make him stop. Start trusting other people. “Well, we went to the emergency room and got stitches.” Step 4: pretend to be listening to yourself. Left and then right and then stop again. He climbed off, and the people inside came out. Perhaps to go around him or to go right over him. Step 1: look down at your feet. Place the TV close enough. My stomach is cramping. “So, some minutes from them they were all killed. Step 4 happened.” Step in front of the tank. It would be better if they killed me, so everyone can see what monsters they are.

Katrina, This is a wonderful piece of writing. My suggestion is to somehow distinguish the different male subjects, "He", or, conversely, confuse them even more, so they become one (though we know they are different, they are the same!).
