Tiananmen Square

The tank driver says, "I will move you. Who do you think you are? You’re like a dot in a drawing that does not actually exist. I am a line. I am a powerful line and there is a line behind me- of tanks. All the dancers are moving along the wall in one direction and you’re the one that is walking towards us, in the opposite direction.

The student responds, “I’m more powerful than you think I am. I’m the tangent line to your curve. The ending is ugly; it is brutal. In the end, you will regret going to the square. Yeah, I’m a dot but a red dot that pops out of a verdant background. I’m a red dot on an aggressive Chinese lion. In Chinese tradition, before a lion dances, the ceremonial leader must pick up a thick, pointed brush and dab that brush into the perfect decorative Chinese bowl. Then, he or she will use the brush to mark a dot on each of the lion’s eyes. The purpose of marking the dot on the lion’s eyes is to give the lion instant energy- to open up his eyes. Mr. Tank Driver, I know I don’t exist to you. I’m like the smallest grain of sand but I can call up my sand crew, and we will burry you- an ugly monster, a mindless zombie and a robot of the government. Boooooo…

This is a mind game. But it is real. The change is not in how they walk but why they are walking! There are two steps: step A and step B. Step A: You bring your courage and bravery. Step B: You walk toward the tank. If the tank tries to move left, you move left. If the tank tries to move right, you follow and stand in front of it. As it approaches you more, you step forward. If it continues to move forward, you climb on the tank. If the soldiers open the door, you talk to them. If they fire at you, the country is murdering itself. This reminds me of what happened when I was young. My own dog bit my leg when I came home. Now, the scar is still there on my leg. The scar consists of two dots. The dots are brown and white. The scar can never be erased. I feed you. I love you but you are harming your own family members.
